Jungle Nightfall

Pale sunset stains the
clouds o’er jungle-greened mountains
where the full moon has
already a-risen, its
light silvering broad rivers

as dusk wraps around
humble huts of families
returning home ere

night arrives

Lorraine Caputo is a documentary poet, translator and travel writer.
